My boss wasn’t as angry as I thought she’d be. Apparently she partied pretty hard when she was my age so she understands what it’s like to be stumbling out into a car at 1 a.m. She’s more glad that her sister found someone to hang out with while she’s visiting.
Also she’s just happy she just gets to ground her sister for the rest of her vacation here.
I told this to her and she said, “Yea right. No way.”
I guess I get to continue to be a bad influence.
I took my boss’ sister to a party this weekend and we both got hammered. When I woke up I found out my boss had picked her up. I think I’m gonna get a stern talking to tomorrow..
The people at the firm I intern at are so nice, they got me a bunch of cupcakes and small cake things for my birthday. We all gathered around my desk and sang Happy Birthday lol. I was right in the middle of lunch too, so it was a pleasant surprise. :] I have only been there a couple of weeks and I can say it’s a pleasure to work with them.
Gabi, the main assistant/ receptionist, is super nice and patient with me because I always have a million questions just to make sure I don’t screw up anything really important. Navita and I sometimes work together and we’ve gotten along pretty well also. She drove me to the trial today and it was pretty chill. Rachel is an associate there too, she’s also really nice and accommodating. She put me on this really interesting assault/battery case with her and another attorney and she takes time out of her day to explain and teach different court proceedings and documents to me.
Wednesday I had lunch with Angela and Elizabeth at Hooters. I wish Elise was there but she went back to Georgia already :[ hopefully we’ll get to do a belated celebration if I see her in July. Still I was glad to be with my two other friends, I haven’t seen them in a while but it was just like we picked up where we left off. :]
Thursday I had lunch with Alice. My mom gave me her credit card so I could take a friend out to lunch and she was in the city looking at apartments so we met up and went to a nice place and had a late brunch :]. It’s always nice seeing her and now that she’s moving in the city, we’ll get to hang out a lot more.
The Friday of my birthday weekend I went to go see Prometheus in IMAX with some friends. Saturday I went on a cruise around Manhattan with my family to take some relatives sightseeing.
That Sunday I went kayaking with some friends of my uncle. I’ve never been kayaking before but I got the hang of it rather quickly. I kept falling behind though, probably because I just wanted the river to do all the work and not paddle at all lol. I paid for that later when I realized I got a bit of a sunburn :[
Pretty good week/weekend I gotta say.
Since I managed to get a couple new followers in the past week and I haven’t posted any text in a while I feel I owe it to you guys y’all to at least try and be interesting.
I started my internship on Thursday. I was really excited to go in the first day, and not just because it was a good excuse to look crisp like potato chips in my suit. It was in a law firm in Midtown and since I eventually want to go to law school, it was a good opportunity to get some real world experience
The office was right next to the Empire State Building, the lobby had a stylish art deco design and there was a stairwell leading directly from the train station. I could already tell this was fancy. When I finally got there I was introduced to one of the partners, we have a brief conversation then I started my orientation.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn that if I ever wanted to accompany one of the lawyers to any of the cases or hearings that all I would have to do is ask them :]. Also, apparently both the partners and even some of the other interns are fluent in French donc Je peux pratiquer parler francais aussi. :]
Needless to say I’m looking forward to working here.
